Trossachs Bird of Prey Trail, The Trossachs Stirling, United KingdomGlen Finglashttp://www.birdofpreytrail.com10:38 05-Sep-2010Glen Finglas was once the favourite hunting ground of Scottish Kings. Today, stretching over 4,063ha and taking in the Glens of Finglas, Meann and Casaig, it includes Britain’s largest upland wood pasture. Up on the hills you may be lucky enough to see a golden eagle, whilst down towards Loch Venachar, you may see an Osprey diving for its fishy prey! There are several walks at Glen Finglas covering various abilities. The 7hr Mell trail is the longest, but do not feel you have to take in this whole route to sample its beauty and have a chance of seeing an eagle in flight! There are also shorter walks in Little Drum Wood, to the Brig O’Turk, or from the Glen Finglas Car Park up to a waterfall. During the school holidays, two of the shortest trails will have feely boxes along the route to help keep your little ones entertained! |
