Trossachs to Doune Bird of Prey Trail
Common Buzzard
Common Buzzard (resident all year and common)

The 'tourist's eagle' the Common Buzzard is more numerous than the Golden Eagle and can often be seen perched on the roadside fences and telegraph poles. Can be found all along the Trail and frequently seen from the car.

Wingspan: Just under 5 feet (2.5 m)

Colour: Variable, but usually dark above and pale below.

Similar to: Osprey, Red Kite

How do I know? The most numerous medium sized raptor on the Trail, often soaring in small groups, and hovering occasionally.
